En Espacio Interior nos interesa del Camino de Santiago, el viaje que se produce desde fuera hacia el interior. Desde tiempos inmemoriales, el Camino de Santiago ha sido símbolo de búsqueda espiritual y autoconocimiento.
En el Camino, cuando se ha sobrepasado el horizonte familiar de la vida, los viejos conceptos, ideales y patrones emocionales dejan de ser útiles. Llega el momento de pasar un umbral a cuyos lados del cual existen mundos de distinta índole, de un lado el mundo de Antes, con su modelo de conocimiento y existencia propio y del otro el mundo de Después. Es el aspecto iniciático del Camino. Se parece al fin último de toda tradición mística: la muerte del “yo”. En el Camino a Santiago el final equivale a la muerte simbólica que da paso a la resurrección de un ser humano nuevo, mejor. Este rito soportado por el catolicismo trasciende lo particular de lo religioso y conecta con el mito universal del viaje del héroe: Ulises, Siddharta…
En el shinto, la religión animista de Japón, “regreso” es un término que comprende en sí mismo “llegar por fin” y “empezar otra vez”. En un mundo desritualizado, el Camino sigue atrayendo a viajeros y buscadores de todo el mundo gracias a este poder de confrontación y de hacernos “volver a casa».
La experiencia es algo que solo ocurre en el presente, en un mundo en el que no tenemos tiempo, ¿cómo vamos a tener experiencias? Esta es una clave del Camino, que es ante todo presente y en consecuencia, experiencia. Por esta razón son frecuentes los “despertares· del Camino, la visión interna, los momentos de percepción, el insight, el misterio del momento, un paso espiritual que cuando se completa es el equivalente de una muerte y de un renacimiento.
La ubicación de Espacio Interior en pleno Camino de Santiago no es casualidad. Para los peregrinos del Camino Francés, Castrojeriz está casi en la mitad de su ruta. Estamos aquí para ofrecer un espacio de reflexión de lo que ha sido el Camino hasta aquí y de lo que queda de él.
